To support the LaValla School for disabled children.

Lavalla is a school near Phnom Penh in Cambodia for children with physical disabilities. An Australian Maris Brother, Terry Heinrich, is currently the organiser of the school. At the moment, there are about 90 students at the school, all ranging between 10 to 19 years of age, with a number of them being boarders too.

The Aim
The school is meant to give the children some chance of a worthwhile future by providing primary education and the opportunity to sit the competitive secondary school examinations.

Who are the Students?
Amongst the children are amputees as well as, victims of landmines, polio, mild cerebral palsy or inadequate medicine. Most of these children would have been without any social security, and forced to be dependant upon their family or reduced to begging in the streets. However, Lavalla School offered a sanctuary for them, offering them opportunities they deserve.

Lavalla Global Concerns Group
The Global Concerns group in UWCSEA is committed to supporting Lavalla School in helping these students lead a better life. Each year a group of grade 11 students from UWCSEA spends a few days working at Lavalla during project week. They hand deliver collections of clothing and other items arranged by the Lavalla Global Concerns Group.
